A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, WHO, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH A WOMAN, PROVIDES SPECIALIST CARE, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT DURING PREGNANCY, BIRTH, POSTNATAL AND THE EARLY PARENTING PERIOD.
> Midwives care for pregnant women before, during and after birth
> Midwives don’t generally care for babies (that’s the job of neonatal and paediatric nurses)

> Taught by midwives who also practice midwifery> At least 10 continuity of care experiences > Four subjects and clinical placement every semester> 1st and 2nd year: 3 - 4 days per week on campus> 3rd year: mostly in practice with four weeks on campus each semester
