CSULB and Goods Movement
1996: Industry / University Partnership was formed 1997: Global Logistics Specialist Professional (GLS)
designation program Unique industry driven program, taught by 32 industry experts Funding from US DOT for GLS Online, students from all around the world International students Licensing agreement
The GLS program is the foundation of CITT ‘s transportation offerings and activities

Industry sought collaboration with the University
To provide a neutral forum where all parties in the logistics industry and its community stakeholders can come together to (a) reach consensus on solutions of identified issues, (b) share expertise and resources, and ( c) develop standards and transportation policy
CITT quickly became a catalyst for training, growth and competitiveness.
CITT Mission is to provide a collaborative forum dedicated to the development, distillation and broad dissemination of objective information about the goods movement industry.
Congressionally-designated National University Transportation Center (UTC)
Awarded to a partnership of USC and CSULB Mission: To address transportation problems in large
metropolitan areas through research, education and outreach Funding from USDOT matched by Caltrans Leader among the UTCs - particularly in goods movement METRANS funding enabled outreach and engagement events
that played major role in CITT ‘s success:
