US-Russia Innovation Corridor: 2013 results
16
In October 2013, five UNN companies visited the International Business Incubator at the
University of Maryland. PoC assisted them in preparing presentations to showcase their projects.
The trip has resulted in the following:
• ROSE (Lasens): a preliminary agreement has been reached with GenProMarkers, a U.S.-based biotech
company, to conduct clinical trials of the ROSE complex in the U.S. and Russia as required by FDA and Russian law.
A clinical trial program drafted by Lasens is currently being considered by GenProMarkers Inc.
• METEO: A demo version of the METEO system may be mounted on the University of Maryland campus
(perhaps supported financially by the MIPS grant program). Collaboration launched with the company “Earth-
networks” (global meteorological business project “WeatherBug”); an NDA signed.
• AlteroZoom: Maryland students tested AlteroZoom’s alpha version and found it user-friendly and an
interesting IT product. Participation in the MIPS program planned in partnership with Dr. Zhou in an effort to distribute
the AlteroZoom product among students at the University of Baltimore.
• RiCo: Further collaboration mapped out with PrimeTime and Golden Island, companies engaged in sales of
medical equipment in China and India. U.S.-based clinical trials scheduled in partnership with Physiotherapy.
• WIM: In October 2013, the company registered its U.S. subsidiary, WirelessInMotion LLC.
