Unit 40 AO1 production process

Pre – production First thing you need to find when producing a phone is find a way to get funding’s this can be from previous profits if there is any remaining you can also get profits from partner company’s and company’s that one to make a profit also donate a certain amount of money to make a profit others also donate money such as the lottery and so on some company’s only donate £35,000 towards a £50mil film but every little bit helps you can also take out loans. Once you have acquired the funding’s you must hire a crew such as actors, backstage helpers, producers, cameraman and editors you will also need to hire some back up actors you need to make sure that the hired actors are the right people for the job as certain scenes will have signs of blood etc. this could not be suitable for certain actors. You will also have to find and if needed hire out a location and the cost of sceneries. Their will also have to have script production plus all of the make up artists for the special effects this will take extra time is one of the first things that need sorting out this will also increase the cost all special effects also come at a cost such as props like exploding cars, smashed glass and blood effects and more. The actors will have to do loads of rehearsals/read through as the less time they take reading the scripts the more cuts and retakes that will need to be taken as the more mistakes that will be made. For the locations some scene will need to be made this takes time these need painting and decorating these are also made so they are moveable so they don’t need remaking each scene.

ProductionThis part is when the crew and cast are all brought together at the chosen location where the film will be shot and scenery will be put together. Depending on the scenery and weather the film will not be shot in chronological order, as the weather will affect the scenery. This also depends on weather the shot are being recorded in or out doors. Indoors the weather is not a problem and can easily be worked around as the lighting in the studio can be changed. Some locations do depend on the weather though and can also need to be filmed out of order as certain out door scenes are needed.

Post- productionOne of the most important things of post production is editing this involves a lot of time and patience as this is a time conserving job the editors job consists of taking all the bet shots and putting them all to gather in sequence for the movie this also includes adding all of the after effects and the and the voice over for the mistakes made. Sound mix also need making for the film, as these are all of the soundtracks for the film these are then imported in to the film by the editor. It is also the editor’s job to add certain effects this can also be done by the special effects cast that make the blood effects and more.

Marketing TrailerIn the trailer of the worlds end they show some of the comedy scenes this really catches peoples eyes and really get people interested in the film they make the trailer smart as they use the right amount of comedy and action scenes from the

film another to make people wont to see it but not enough that it runes the whole film they also show a certain scene such as the fens that was nocked down when Simon pegg jumps on to it this is also shown in two other films that have the same actor Simon pegg this is purposely put into the film as it catches peoples attention as it shows that the film focuses on him and that he’s the main actor.

WebsitesThey also show banners of the films that are advertised before and after release such as the worlds end they use websites as every one uses the internet it is also a fast and easy way of catching peoples attention they make the banners/ads very unique as people will see that their has been a lot of time and effort to make the film look good this really promotes the film as people are eager to see it. This is also free for most sites and is an easy way to advertise when people click on the ads this means that the company who uploaded the ads make money for people accessing them this means that they are making money that is used towards the film.

BillboardsBillboards are a good way of advertisement as they are really big and stand out they are also very detailed as they are mostly bright and have bright big bold text that also stands out but try and keep the text as gloomy as possible as the image should stand out more than the text as you wont people to focus on the film instead of the date billboards are seen mostly in big city’s and seen mostly by people who go out a lot and people who drive cars as they are commonly found on the side of big building the people who use the billboards make money for the time that the billboard is up as they are advertising the film for the film industry.

PostersPosters are advertised in places such as city’s and shops as these are the most commonly crowded arrears and get noticed a lot this makes people interested in the film due to the light colour and the HD picturing it also has bold text saying when the film is released and what the film is called this is done to make sure that people come to see the film making more money as more people wont to see it as when they see the detail put into the posters they know that a lot of hard work has gone into the film.

Press junkets/ red carpet event

This includes a mouse people who have acted in many films this gets the film noticed as some audience watch certain films with certain actors some of these actors have won bafta awards and won Oscars at the red carpet meaning that they are very well noticed actors the more of these well known actors that are in one film the more people that will wont to watch it as some of the audience are big fans of the actors.

Chat ShowsChat shows are normally used to show of the actor and speak to them to find out from them about the film and how it is acting in the film but in the chat shows they normally show a trailer of the film this is kind of like a marketing technique as it is shown to others watching the chat shows.

The reason marketing is important to a movie is because you need to be able to get people interested in the film before they even see it and get it noticed as you won’t as many people to see it as possible as you need people to watch it to make a profit to either expand their business or even make another film production this getting them more money and some company’s even loan money to other film production company’s then any money that is made they get so much back also helping them make a profit.
