I am going to be the photographer for the photoshoot. The shots which I need are close ups and extreme long distance. For the Sun set this will be an Extreme long distance shot which will also be wide angle shot, this is because I need there to be a big distance so the image shows a lot of the sky. The close up will be for the hands and the angle will be an eye level, this will make the illusion of hands in a crowd for the poster. The lighting for both of these photos will not make a difference as I cannot control the sunset and outside lighting, it will also make it more natural. I do not intend to edit this photo as I want the most natural look.

The photos of the hands will not make a difference for the lighting as they are going to be edited as I shadow. If the lighting is Low key it will be easier to edit due to it already being semi-dark. The effect which I intend to apply for the hands will be to increase the ... to 100%.

For the photos of the jumping shadow I am going to use a long distance shot and I want the whole body from head to toe in the shot. The angle for this shot will be eye level, as other shot angles will make it less obvious what the shadows silhouette is of. The lighting for this photo doesn’t matter due to how it is going to be edited to be black like a shadow. However, it will be helpful if there was low key lighting for the editing process. The post production for this photo will be editing the … to 100% so that it is completely black, this is same editing that I am going to do to the hands which I have also taken photos.

The purpose for this project will be to take the photos to use for the Jump Festival advertisement (Poster and Magazine Advert).

Unit 15 – Print Based AdvertisingReference images and ideas:

I got the inspiration to use shadows for both of the advert from the Summer Music Festival poster. I knew that I wanted to use the hand of the crowds however, I wanted in incorporate jumping into the magazine due the name of my festival. By also making this a shadow I made a reference between the two adverts which people could recognize the same style. Also, a shadow means that there is no specific person in the photo and the audience can imagine themselves as a replacement to it do, so see themselves attending. The sunset reminds me of a happy summer especially in a field. This is what I wanted people looking at the adverts to feel and then they can associate this feeling with my festival and want to go.

Casting:

Reasons behind WHY these people/images are suitable – Who do they look like?I am going to use a female as the person for the shadows of the jumping person and the hands. This is because if she is on the adverts it will show and appeal to younger people and also due to her being female it will appeal to the female gender more as it shows that the festival for both genders. This can also gain the ‘Male Gaze’ as she is a women, which could interest more males going to the festival.

Model requirements:

I want to use a female who is of average height (5ft). They need to have long hair which makes it obvious that they are female in the shadow. They also need to be young (16-25). I want them to look like that they are someone which will attended the festival and fulfil a stereotype of a student enjoying their summer.

Unit 15 – Print Based AdvertisingWardrobe and Look:

The clothing which I want my model to wear will be a shirt and shorts. This is something a festival attendee would wear as it is comfortable. I want them to look normal and welcoming so the festival doesn’t look exclusive ‘attractive’ individuals which could put off the normal person. However, as the person is going to be edited into a shadow it is going to be hard to see what they are wearing which means that the people looking at the advert can make up their own mind what they are wearing. This means it can appeal to most people.

Hair and Make up:

There doesn’t need to be any make-up as the person face will not be shown. However, the female’s hair does need to be showing. It should be a normal hairstyle. The normal hairstyle will make it look more normal instead of it being ‘fancy’ which wouldn’t connote a normal person attending.

Where:The photoshoot is going to be at my house as this is the easiest way for me to take the photos.
