Travelling around the world. Aim: Recognize the most famous buildings and places around the world. Make with GIMP a photo composition that will allow us to pretend that we have been there. Level: CS Travelling makes you meet new cultures , new people and new places , to learn new stuff , to take what you like and leave what you dislike. Travelling to foreign countries makes you search about their language , main cities , special places to visit and lots of things , and by that , you learn a lot and that’s a good thing. Session 1. Take photos in ones, in tows or in groups like we do when we travel. Create a folder and download the photos from the camera. Rename the photos. Search in the net pictures of famous places and building around the world and save them in our folder. Learn how to select pictures bigger tha 2 Mb. Learn how to use the scissors: Select the Scissor tool. Next, click on the edge of a picture. Then keep clicking at regular intervals on the edge, making your way around the perimeter of your shape. Finally, click on the first point you made. The last point should be connected your first point at this step. Then, just click inside the perimeter to turn it into a selection. From now on you'll be able to copy or cut and paste the selection. Session 2 Learn how to install new fonts. Download fonts from dafont.com and install them on the computer Open with GIMP a picture of a well known building. Add a title on top: File---> Create –-> Logos.... Remember deselect the background of the title in order to make it transparent:
