Tips to Crack GD-PI-WAT for MBA
Admission
The GD-PI-WAT sessions at B-schools are started. Group discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) are an integral part of the MBA admission process. It is crucial to understand what to say and what not to say during a PI and GD. Same goes for WAT. Competitors should know the crucial points to write in the article.
We bring you 13 must do things to crack GD - PI - WAT rounds this year: Personal Interview
1. It is okay to say 'I don't know in a personal interview’. Rather than answering a question without any knowledge about the point (read bluffing), be humble and state that you don't know about the facts. 2. Here's the classic opening question in a PI – ‘Tell me something about yourself’. Answer to this question can make or break the interview. Typically, one should talk quickly about family, education, career goals, hobbies and interests. Do not to talk about the past. Briefly refer to past education, life journey and future plans.
3. Another common question is ‘Why do you want to do an MBA?’ Answer such questions keeping in mind the holistic development you'll get during MBA and acquisition of skills for lifelong success in personal and domestic space. Keep in mind, post a MBA, one land a job in corporate where there's a quick career growth alongside high monetary returns. But then, management as career is also a challenging profession.
4. The third common interview question is – ‘Where do you see yourself five years from now?’ While answering, interview on question is, increased responsibility while highlighting on your goals as achievement. But do not say I want to end up VP or General Manager or similar stuff.

5. Read daily newspapers so you don't fall short on content. 6. Try to enter the GD at the right point, such when others are taking a little delay. Be loud and assertive on points. 7. It is not important to arrive at a consensus in during a GD. Candidates have different opinions and agreement can't be arrived now and again. But it is important to finish up the GD. 8. Do not try to prove others wrong in a GD. Just remember that it is not debate but a group discussion. 9. While participating in a GD, focus on the following:

10. Ensure participation by setting up relevant points, showing maturity. Build your arguments with truths, figures and situations. Keep a logical approach throughout the GD. 11. WAT topics can be as abstract as describe the color blue and pink' to something more concentrate on current trends. So keep reading the news, latest trends and articles on India's growth stories. Keep reading Economics Times, Mint or Business Standards on daily basis. Keep in mind the editorial sections of newspapers. 12. This round tests the applicant's language, articulation and content. So be careful about what you write. 13. While get ready for WAT or essay round, refer to any available text books. But daily practice is the key here.
