Abstract

● We propose a semantic approach to the query expansion using WordNet that is a English lexical database.

Query Expansion

● Query expansion is the process that expands the keywords typed by the users.

About WordNet

● WordNet is a lexical database of English. It can be downloaded freely and publicly from the official Web site.

Experiment

● We conducted experiments to test our prototype with some query sets.

Conclusion

● Some results are expanded effectively.

● But there are some problems,Such as execution time.
