Erikson’s Theoretical development stages.

It is important to understand Erikson's theory because it is one of the most influential in theories of development. He separates it in eight stages, each stage can clearly impact each age group. I like his vision that a person does not need to master one stage to pass to the other, but they may face problems until they overcome a specific milestone process. This theory aligns with creative curriculum because it encourages a safe environment, to develop trust, that comes from the structured routine. (Estes, L. S., & Krogh, S. L. 2012)

Vygotsky: Sociocultural Theory of Development

Vygotsky theory works with the ZPD, maximizing learning by preparing the lesson plan within the proper developmental zone for each child. Within his studies he developed the technique of scaffolding, where a person can grown cognitive understanding based on the knowledge that child conquers through out periods of time. This the aligns pretty well with high scope and creative curriculum, because both are very much child focused curriculum. (Gredler, M. 2012)

High Scope

The High scope curriculum has a basic pillar: Plan - do - review. Using this technique teachers are led by child's interests, the routine is simple and followed every day, but every day is different according to children's plan. Scaffolding is key for the success of this curriculum, teachers must work on their anecdotal notes daily. (High Scope, 1989).
