Long, long time ago the king Krak ruled Poland. He lived in the castle in Cracow called Wawel. Once upon a time a terrible dragon appeared in the city. It was big and green. He lived in a dark cave under the Wawel castle. The dragon wanted to eat a cow every day. Soon all cows in the city were eaten and the people started being afraid of their own lives. There were many daredevils who wanted to kill the monster but nobody did it. The people lost hope for the rescue. One poor boy, a shoemaker decided to organize a trap. He made a sheep filled with sulphur. The dragon didn’t know about it and ate the sheep. He became very thirsty and started to drink water from the river. Finally, he drank so much that he burst into pieces and died. Everyone in Cracow were happy. The boy became a hero and he married the king’s daughter. They lived long and happily and had many children. Once you are in Cracow, you can visit the dragon’s cave under the Wawel castle…
