to attract people to the

animals, the environment,

self-education and

development.

History of the World Red Book was launched inParis in 1902, when a number of countries havesigned the first of its kind Red Book - TheInternational Convention for the Protection ofBirds, which can be considered the firstinternational agreement to protect biodiversity.

In 1948 was established the International Union forConservation of Nature and (IUCN, IUCN) - aninternational non-governmental organization inconsultative status with UNESCO, which has 502organizations from 130 countries.The range of activities extends from the IUCNconservation of endangered species, protected areas andecosystem management to environmental legislation andsocial policy.IUCN seeks to ensure that decision-making in

environmental management was based strictly on ascientific basis, using the latest scientific developments.
