A lot of people view
museums as grey and
gloomy places of the past,
full of objects that no one
has any real interest in any
more.
The project The
People's Museum intended to
change that attitude. The
plan was to give museums
new and everlasting life in
the virtual world that is the
Internet.
Imagine a museum to
celebrate your country's
heritage, a museum that
stands for everything your
nation is most proud of,
everything that makes you
who you are, everything that
shapes your identity. What
would that be? Let's find out
together!
The People’s Museum
The essence of the project was to make
students aware of the importance of diversity
because diversity provides our society and
culture with unique and inspirational
perspectives; to promote friendships,
multiculturalism (like a tool for instilling
students with pride and confidence in their
unique and special backgrounds), empathy,
respect and equality; to enable young people
to build their confidence, gain new skills and
take on responsibilities; to develop a positive
perception of students’ personalities by
demonstrating knowledge about the culture,
history, and contributions of diverse groups.
Apart from the above mentioned the
project aims were to: make students
interested in their national heritage,
encourage them to find out more about it and
celebrate it by presenting their findings to
other people in a creative, interesting, but
above all educational way; make students
appreciate their own background as the basis
for understanding and accepting other
people’s; enhance students’ interest in other
countries, their cultures and national
heritage; make students’ aware of diversity in
culture, tradition and lifestyles of people
around them; broaden students’ horizons by
educating others while at the same time
being educated; develop communicative skills
using English as the means of global
communication.

Introduction
Writing a poem –
Where I’m from
Instruction: Make
the poem as specific
and personal as
possible. Use
nicknames or words
that only you or your
family use. Don't
worry about readers
not knowing what
you're talking about.
That’s perfectly
okay, because this
poem is personal
and particular to the
poet, not the
audience. This poem
is about YOU!
eTwinning
By the end of this project, the students
developed different skills: determination,
self-confidence, decision-making, problem
solving, independence, group working and
creativity.
The students introduced themselves in
many different creative ways (writing
poems, using Voki to create their own
talking characters, making videos).
The students investigated the idea of
national heritage trough history of their
nation. They investigated their culture,
religion, tradition and lifestyle through
language, verbal and non-verbal
communication and they were able to
share the facts about life in their country
related to history, art, culture, literature,
religion (subjects: art, ICT, citizenship,
English). The students produced nine
videos to present their findings: Kondir -
part of Serbian national heritage; He is
Golden; Slava; Monasteries in Serbia;
Serbian Alphabet; Serbian Flag; The
Song "Djurdjevdan“; Zona Zamfirova
and Vampire.
In order to complete the tasks assigned,
the students took part in group work,
research projects and interviews with
teachers both during lessons and in their
free time.
