Analyze the Learner•24 second graders: 13 girls, 11 boys•65% white, 25% African-American, 10% Hispanic•6 students have varying levels of ADHD•Prefer to learn by doing hands-on activities
Main Objectives•My 2nd grade students will be given events of the 1st thanksgiving and work together to put them in chronological order after looking at visual aids, listening to a podcast, completing art projects, watching videos, using social media, doing web quests and playing games with 90% accuracy.
Day-by-Day Breakdown•Day 1: Show robot. Podcast on pilgrim culture. Look at tutorial and make pilgrim figurine. Introduce Facebook page.•Day 2: Show edited picture of Indian. Make headbands. Culture section of Word web quest. Twitter.•Day 3: Zunal web quest. Paper boats. Make class turkey poster. Explore blog.•Day 4: Watch YouTube video. Finish Word web quest.•Day 5: Show myth voki. Show myth poster. Watch talk show video. Thanksgiving games.
