The winner of the Elizabeth Rohatyn Prize for Schools Where Teaching Matters earns $25,000 for his or her public school, which then uses the funds to create opportunities for students to learn, lead, and thrive. Elizabeth Rohatyn Prize The winner of the prize is chosen from a selection of

five finalists through a two-part process, which consists of voting from the prize committee and from the public. To be considered, finalists must publish their initiatives on the Internet.

The proposed initiatives should attract or retain high-level teachers. They should also promote effective teaching, support learning, and encourage consistent strengthening of professional skills. From the administrative standpoint, the initiatives must be cost effective in addition to sustainable and replicable.
