In the science center. My first order of business was becoming a unicorn.

(See how my horn is glowing? I think it’s nighttime)

Watching the video on how to speak in pod 9 (I have been known to talk a lot. If you see me with lots of those green things and run, I won’t

be offended)

Overview of Modules ScreenshotI have to admit when I saw all the “techie” stuff we had to do, I panicked, but after a tutorial from my 16 year old, I think I got

“Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of

traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a

splendor of their own”  ~Bertrand Russell, What I Believe, 1925

My name is Nancy Dooley. I have four daughters ages 16-24. I studied Biology and Counseling at

Empire State College and graduated in June 2010.

My father is a retired Biology teacher and has always been my inspiration to become a teacher.

I love to read, cook and watch reality TV.

I have two dogs. Jasmine, my baby dog is 1 and Clover my “big” dog is 7. Jasmine is a Bernese

Mountain dog/Golden Retriever mix and Clover is a Golden Retriever/Beagle/Chihuahua Mix(???). I

would love to do a genetic test on them.

“Science is built up of facts, as a house is built of stones; but an accumulation of

facts is no more a science than a heap of stones is a house”  ~Henri Poincaré,

Science and Hypothesis, 1905 I love Biology. My favorite part of Biology is Genetics. At first I wanted to be a Genetic

Counselor. That is why my major was built out of

Biology and Counseling Classes. I have never worked in the field of science

or Biology but I can’t wait to get started. I love teenagers and my house is usually

filled with them.

“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what your bank account balance was, the sort of house you lived in, or the kind of car you drove, but the

world may be different because you were important in the life of a child”- Anonymous

I have had lots of jobs but being a mother has been my finest accomplishment and the job I loved the most.

That job is coming to an end this September as my last child heads to college.

I am looking to start teaching so that I can surround myself with children who I can share my love of Biology with.
