Giussani As the head of TED Europe, Lausanne based Giussani shared 3 insights: i) leverage community to get 500 talks translated in 50 languages over 7 months, ii) TedPrize: Scale people’s dreams: offer a forum for the TED community to help scale Big Ideas, e.g. the Charter For Compassion (click?, Learn, share, Act) which looks at common points cross religions/beliefs vs. their differences (One of us found a strong link with Obama value driven speech in Cairo ), iii) TEDx: spread the TED experience around the world: launched in March 09 planning for 20 events, turned 200+. 2.SPORT FOR COMMUNITY: “Sports: Giving refugee youth their lost childhood”, C. Marshall We had a great chat with Claude before his talk, a great Man. Some insights from his remarkable work in bringing sports programs into refugee camps: Making school attendance a mandatory Duty for kids to join sport team drove 80% increase of attendance: every educated kid is a step to improve the country. Sports brings rules in places where there are none, so it is a great way to pave way for future local culture.
