TANG DYNASTY

It is one of the most glorious dynasties in China.

The dynasty lasted from 618 to 907 C.E.

Chang’an (capital).

Birth of Tango After the downfall of the Sui

Dynasty due to the presence of rebellions against the government, Li Yuan, a noble general, declared himself as the emperor of the new dynasty, Tang, as Emperor Gaozu.

However, his term was cut short by his own son, Li Shihmin who forced him to step down after murdering his own two brothers. Li Shihmin became known as Emperor Taizong. In his rule, the Golden Age began.

“Golden Age”

•It started during Emperor Taizong’s reign. The dynasty became glorious as the economy flourished. There was a massive change on agriculture and the development of Literature, Arts, and Technology.

Fall of Tang•Due to the corruption of the government officials, rebellion sparked during the mid 800s. This impacted greatly to the dynasty as the economy worsens.•By the early 900s, Emperor Ai Di, the last emperor of the Tang Dynasty abdicated his position and Zhou Quanzong emerges as the new emperor and created a new dynasty: Liang.
