The fundamentals of SYSTEMS THINKING
OVERALL SPIRIT of the training
Technologies, communications and wide scale accessibility to information have reshaped the essence of the work in any
entreprise, whatever its size (very small, medium or big). It is not only a matter of executing procedural tasks but it is
more and more the fact of coping with the unusual, and solving new & more complex problems. So we are dependent
upon diverse knowledge and diverse disciplines to evaluate risks, grasp opportunities, take decisions or even to identify
the right problem .
The Systems Thinking acquisition will be developed using the subjects of the trainees. They will perform practical
exercices, individually or in small groups. The fundamental concepts will be illustrated with examples and a rich
bibliography will be commented.

PURPOSE
This training gives the opportunity to put the trainees in a situation to practice Systems Thinking on real problems.
Being aware of interactions and mutual influences between systems, they understand any situation in its wholeness and
consider the complex systems in changing, turbulent and heterogeneous environments. At the end of this training they
will be able to define and to master the perimeter of the complex situations they have to deal with. They will have
developed Systems Thinkers' attitudes.
Note that this training is a prerequisite for any Systems Engineering training.
PREREQUISITE
Level : Initiation No prerequisite
This course is aimed at any person in position to take decision, to manage risks, to grasp opportunities or to face a new situation.
It is a prerequisite for Systems Engineering training.
