Question 1

This tells me that my

magazine needs to be

aimed at

teenagers, mostly

students up to the age

of 18. So my magazine

does not need to be

upper class or

formal, and the bands

featured can be young

and quite new.

Question 2

This shows me that

my audience should

be aimed at equally

both male and

female. I will need to

think of this when

thinking of my colour

scheme, and also the

type of bands I put in.

They will need to

appeal to both

genders.

Question 3

The majority of the answers were ‘student’ so it tells me

that my audience is going to be students. So I will need

to consider this when thinking about the writing style of

my articles and how informal it will be.

show that Rock

was the most

popular genre of

music listened too

by my

audience, with

Indie not far

behind. My

magazine will be a

rock and indie

magazine.

Question 5

These results tell me that students rarely read music magazines. This may be because they haven't got the money to buy them or the time to read them because of studying. So I wouldn’t publish my magazine every week as it would not be bought. Maybe it would be published every 2 weeks.

Question 6

Kerrang by far is the most

popular magazine with

the students who took my

survey so I will take into

account some of its

layouts and styles when

planning my magazine so

mine will be as popular

and enticing to my

audience as Kerrang.

Billboard is also the

second popular so I will

try and make my

magazine minimalistic

like that too as students

also seem to like it.

Question 7

From this I know that

people are interested in

interviews most in a

magazine. So my

double page spread

article will need to be an

interview with a popular

artist so it interests and

attracts. Students also

like knowing tour dates

of all their favourite

artists so I would need

to consider putting these

into my magazine too.

Question 8

Black, red and white seem to be the most popular colours. These are

bold colours so I will use at least two of them. Yellow and purple also

seem to be popular so I will use these to contrast with the other

colours.

Question 9

Artic monkeys, Fall out Boy and Bastille seem to be the most popular

artists and they fall into the alternative rock/indie genre so this genre

will be the main focus point of my magazine. All the bands and music

covered will be alternative/indie.
