Fructose

• Fructose is a very sweet sugar occurring in many fruits and honey. It is also used as a preservative for foodstuffs and as an intravenous nutrient.

Annelid

• An annelid is any segmented worm of the annelida phylum, including the earthworms, leeches, and various marine forms.

Angiosperm

• An angiosperm is a plant having its seeds enclosed in an ovary; a flowering plant.

Lichen

• A lichen is any complex organism of the group Lichenes, composed of a fungus in symbiotic union with an alga and having a greenish, gray, yellow, brown, or blackish thallus that grows in leaflike, crustlike, or branching forms on rocks, trees, etc.

Keratin

• Keratin is a fibrous protein that occurs in the outer layer of the skin and in hair, nails, feathers, hooves, etc.

Insects

• An insect is any animal of the class Insecta, comprising small, air-breathing arthropods having the body divided into three parts (head, thorax, and abdomen), and having three pairs of legs and usually two pairs of wings.

Modified Stem

• Modified stems are Plants often modify their stems for special functions. These modifications can have unusual and even bizarre shapes, and can grow above as well as below the ground. Thorns are modified stems that protect plants from grazing animals.

Tissue

• Tissues are an aggregate of similar cells and cell products forming a definite kind of structural material with a specific function, in a multicellular organism.

Chitinous

• Chitin is a nitrogen-containing polysaccharide, related chemically to cellulose, that forms a semitransparent horny substance and is a principal constituent of the exoskeleton, or outer covering, of insects, crustaceans, and arachnids.
