“In these terms it can be argued that stars are representations of persons which reinforce, legitimate or occasionally alter the prevalent preconceptions of what it is to be a human being in this society. There is a good deal at stake in such conceptions. On the one hand, our society stresses what makes them

like others in the social group/class/gender to which they belong. This individualising stress involves a separation of the person's "self" from his/her social "roles", and hence poses the individual against society. On the other

hand society suggests that certain norms of behaviour are appropriate to given groups of people, which many people in such groups would now wish to contest

(eg the struggles over representation of blacks, women and gays in recent years). Stars are one of the ways in which conceptions of such persons are

USP-UNIQUE SELLING POINT

Our artist’s USP is her outstanding beauty and sex appeal. She is

marketed as a strong women who uses her appearance to her own benefit. One might say she has a

‘bond girl’ image.

As an artist all the girls want to be like her and all the guys want to be

with her.

MARKETING THE ARTIST ACROSS THE CAMPAIGN We are planning to market our artist by her

appearance and have her face as the recognition factor.

In both the website and DigiPak the artist should be the main focus and we will incorporate multiple portrait shots. This will market her beauty and appeal to the young audience.

we are also planning to have the colour RED appear in all the tree medias to present the campaign as a unit.

We selected the colour red, because it has connotations of sex appeal and love which is our artists USP.

These websites are similar to the websites we are planning to construct for our star.

We want to draw attention to the star’s USP.

Although the bottom left website is a make up website, we could adapt it and create a similar layout.

The attention is only focused on the star, her image is the first thing that pop’s up.
