A program of the St. Albans School in Washington, DC, the School of Public Service (SPS) offers promising high school seniors the opportunity explore government and public service while taking part in a range of activities in the nation’s capital . A four-week summer program, SPS brings 35 seniors, who are competitively selected through an extensive application process, to Washington, D.C., each year.

In addition to visiting notable landmarks and meeting important government figures , SPS students participate in classroom activities such as detailed simulations, which allow students to examine and discuss public policy issues through role-play and discussion. The simulations also help students develop the critical thinking, debating, and speaking skills necessary for successful future endeavors.
