Project Introduction

For this assignment, we are required to find a specific empty land in a group of 2

students, to initiate a small construction project. The size of the land shall between

50m x 50m (2500m2) – 50m x 70m (3500m

2).

Individually, we have to propose a project that serves on any one or combination of

two of the following purposes such as recreation area, commercial area, industrial area,

agricultural area, tourism area and residential area.

To do this project, we are required to study types of building development which

includes site analysis & evaluation, suggestions, rationale, benefits and the needs of

the project to the client and to the community.

Objective

The objectives of this project is enable us to develop an understanding of the building

team, its organization, duties and inter-relations within which they will seek

employment, career progression or further study.

On top of that, it is also help to develop an awareness of their professional

responsibilities and to appreciate their profession in the construction industry.

Introduction to our Site

The plot of land we have looked upon is an unused and undeveloped piece of barren

land at Jalan Semenyih, Kajang Selangor thus we have decided that this plot of land

was a great area to develop because it is surrounded by commercial, residential,

educational and recreation area. It is also has some facilities around such as hospital,

petrol station and bank.

There are so many reasons why we choose this site to develop, but the main reason is

because of the prime location to set up practically anything we wanted to. With the

surrounding area consisting mainly of upper middle class residential, commercial area

and in recent months property there has been much development, thus is a great

potential increase in land value in the near future.

Conclusion

At the end of this project, we have concluded the importance of developing a coherent

working relation among the various professionals of the construction industry. A

proper communication channel in organizing and coordinating the team is also

significant in such a way so as to create an effective working team to successfully

achieve the goal in managing a project. Besides, we are also able to document our

observations as well as produce systematic and convincing presentation and reports,

from all the research and analysis that we have done. From that, we enhance the

ability to justify the feasibility of a development and improve the proposal to serve the

purpose of the development.
