The Bramble’s Schoole at 2016’s ‘Days of Knights’

FRANKFORT, Ky.- Springfield, MO’s  Bramble’s Schoole of Defence will come back this year

to Frankfort’s historic event “Days of Knights” Friday, Oct. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 in

Frankfort’s Cove Spring Archery Park at 100 Cove Spring Rd.

The Schoole is contributing to the event with their annual ‘Schola Rubeorum’ scientific review, a

show that covers the sciences and swordsmanship of the 13th and 14th centuries and has been

presented by the Schoole for three years.

Inaugurated in 2012, The Days of Knights is a Community of living history enthusiasts

who meet annually to share their knowledge and interest of medieval history and put together the

event “Days of Knights Living History Timeline.” The event is a highly accurate historical

gathering that covers the sciences and living history of the medieval era by re-enacting accurate

swordsmanship and archery techniques drawn from primary sources by various authors and

personalities in medieval Europe.

“‘Days of Knights’ is a family friendly event for those who want to learn about the live in the

13th and 14th centuries.” Says Scott Crawford, living history enthusiast and member of The Bramble

Schoole, “We participate by giving the most accurate demonstration of swordsmanship possible.”

###Formed in 1999 by Scott Crawford and Richard Swinney, The Bramble Schoole is a team of amateur historians, western martial arts enthusiasts and historical interpreters in Southwest Missouri (USA) who study and demonstrate various aspects of life during the 12th through 17th centuries. The Schoole now consists of numerous students and members living throughout the United States and seven “Free Scholars”, or members who have been recognized for their dedication and abilities to perform and instruct historical weapon skills.
