1 – In this shot, the artist would be straight faced and looking directly at the camera. I have done this as this would make the flower crown the centre piece which is a strong representation of indie-pop with it’s appealing fashion style and pastel/cool colours.2 – The second picture of a large hat is done again similarly to draw attention to the prop as it recreates an indie vibe. This can then attract my target audience as common ground with fashion tastes are made.3 – The idea of flowers on the floor surrounding her is to, again, create an aesthetically pleasing image over I do believe the angle may be unusual for a front cover but can match my masthead (Avant Garde).4 – A microphone and guitar not only creates a direct link to music but also attracts my target audience as it makes the artist appear natural and authentic. 5 – I believe that a building or scenic view ties well to my music magazine for indie-pop as these images relate to the aesthetic strongly and will attract my target audience.6 – The artist, with no props, looking to the side is done to create a simplistic and explicit view of the artist. This can then be more intimate however the off gaze will attract audience by making the artist seem ambiguous.

7 – This shot again creates a feeling of simplicity and elegance which is linked strongly to indie-pop through artists such as Melanie Martinez or Lana Del Rey. They constantly show elegance through photo shoots.8 – The two-shot is indie-pop with not only the guitar but also the sunglasses as it matches with the style of the genre. It also creates an idea of independency which is a strong theme in indie (generally).9 – Again, the guitar shows a direct link to music however the facial expression of serious or calm reflects the common expression used by many artists on magazines currently such as Rolling Stones.10 – The ‘shouting’ pose replicates the freedom of indie-pop which contrasts well with the elegance shown through the magazine which I believe will work to interest my target audience.11 – Flowers again connect to my chosen genre aesthetically and also, if the front over is a flower crown or flowers, this will then create a link between the two pages.12 – Finally, the last picture is reflected through a common ‘distressed yet calm’ pose used by many famous indie-pop artists in magazine. The angle of gaze adds to the intimacy which will also attract my target audience.
