Founded around 1356 (two steps). It is the oldest fraternity in Seville. The first step is the image of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno [our Father Jesus Nazareth], who carries a cross of tortoiseshell and silver. The Nazarene is embracing the cross, all surrounded by a forest of purple irises. La Virgen de la Concepcion [the Virgin of the Conception], and San Juan [Saint John], in a canopy made of sterling silver inlaid with precious stones. The smell of this step is unmistakable, as is adorned with orange blossoms. The image of the Lord is by Francisco de O’ampo and the Virgin of Sebastian Santos. Robes: Black with tail.
