entre for Photonics and Nanotechnology (SONA PAN) was inaugurated on 4th January 2010. The SONA PAN is one of the Research & Development centre in the India’s leading technical education institution of Sona College of Technology. This centre has state of the art nano-fabrication and characterization techniques to enable the development of cutting edge nanoscale technologies for various applications such as Nano photonics, MEMS/ NEMS, semiconductor optoelectronics, free space optical communications, next generation solar cells and crystal growth. The SONA PAN consists of six staff members headed by Dr. S. Saravanan, a Professor of Physics. www.sonapan.com

• To synthesis metal, metal oxide Nanoparticle for bio-medical and Solar Cell applications.

• To fabricate Third Generation Solar Cells with the Nanoparticles synthesized by Green synthesis method.

• To fabricate the Organic Light emitting Diodes (OLED) for display applications.

Recently the Centre has signed MoU with Nagoya institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan.

The MoU may leads to exchange of students, research scholars, staffs and scientific materials and facilities.

The centre started the joint research work in the field of Organic and Dye sensitized solar cell fabrication.
