The school should ideally be located at a place -
Away from busy places.
Keep free from all hazards.

Height of the class room about 12 feet
Floor should be smooth
Room soundproof & dustproof
Area not less then 480sq feet
Floor space 15sq feet / child

5. Play ground:
For a primary school it should be 0.5 to 1 acre.
For a secondary school it should be 5 to 14 acres.

6. Seats & Desks:
A.Zero desk:
Here the posterior edge of the
desk is vertically in line with the
anterior edge of the seat.
Singal seats and desks are ideal
Zero & minus desks are suitable
for reading & writing.

In this type there is a space between the anterior edge of the seat and the posterior edge of the desk.
C. Minus desk:
Here the vertical line from the posterior edge of the desk falls on the seat.

Leg remain vertical
Back of the seat should support the spine in the lumber region .

For next 100 pupils
1 pan for every 15
1 urinal for 60 student
Arrangements should be separately made for boys and girls.

School Lunch Service
School lunch programme is a part of the education programme .
Ti is known as Mid Day Meal Programme (M.D.M.P)
Principles or Criteria :
The meal should be a supplemented and not a substitute to the home diet.
The cost of the meal should be low.

Following the preparation of a Master plan, in 1993 for the development of a comprehensive school health programme.
The project was signed in June 1996 for the implementation of School Health Pilot Project (S.H.P.P) in 4 districts under the World Bank.
