S2 Build Your own Shanty Town•Materials must be brought to class by students

•Suggested materials- Cardboard, plastic, tin foil, string, wood,

anything!

•Whatever you bring will not necessarily be yours to build with!

•Materials go into the ‘City Dump’-numbers given to groups

e.g. Number 1 are the first settlers and so get the choice of

materials

•Groups will have the entire period after collecting these to

make their own shanty town dwelling

•Now for the rules….

1. No Physical Violence

2. Theft, if detected, will be punishable by a spell in the

City Jail-hard labour is given

3. Some groups may wish to trade-this is allowed

4. Your buildings must be free standing

5. They must be waterproof and windproof

6. Groups are final

7. Group members must all be involved

8. The class will vote on the best two efforts, which

will then be submitted to the judge

9. The judge’s decision is final

10. Noise is expected-excessive noise is not (breach of

the peace is a crime….)
