1. How many of the rules for happiness mentioned
in the video clip have you checked as “VERY IMPORTANT”?
Why do you consider them
“VERY IMPORTANT”?
*We checked TWO“VERY IMPORTANT”
rules.*To honor our ancestors
and*To respect sacred places
It is because:
Honoring our ancestors is one of our
attitudes as Filipinos.
And for us, it is our way to show
respecteven they are not
in this world anymore.
And respecting sacred places
is also one way in showing RESPECT
to GOD. To THANK Him andwishing forgiveness for
our sins.
2. How many of the rules for happiness mentioned
in the video clip have you checked as
“LEAST IMPORTANT”?Why do you
consider them“LEAST
IMPORTANT”?
We checked ONE“LEAST IMPORTANT”
rule.*Don’t step on the edges of the tatami mats.
it is because:
Tatami mats are not on Filipinohouses except on Japanese. We doesn’t use it because
it was just a part of Japanese’s culture.
3. What have you realized about your own values as a Filipino based on your answer to the activity?
We realized that Japanese
and Filipinos have similarities in
their culture. But still, there’s also
a difference in between them.
4. As you listened to and watched the video clip,
what did you noticeabout the Japanese woman
expressed her feelings?
As we see the woman’s facial
expression as she talk, we found out
that she’s proud in telling their
different values andtraditions.
5. As non-native English speakers, how
similar to or differentare we from the Japanese in
term ofusing the English
language?
We have our own diction
and pronunciation when
we speak especially in
English. Maybe it is because
of our own languages.
6. Does this activity
help you in understandingyour identity as
an Asian?How?
Yes. Because as the woman
show and explain their tradition,
we simply understood now that
they have their own values
in connection to their things and arts.
THANK YOU!!!
