Content  Dialogue is irrelevant, and does not meet the requirements of given scenario 

  Dialogue is somewhat relevant, and meets some of the requirements of given scenario 

  Dialogue is clear, relevant, and meets the requirements of given scenario 

  Dialogue is well­written, relevant, and creative in meeting the requirements of given scenario 

Language Use  Lacks use of vocabulary that is precise and purposeful.  Use of grammar interferes with meaning, and hard to understand 

   Exhibits minimal use of vocabulary that is precise and purposeful   Most sentences are well­constructed but have a similar structure  

  Exhibits reasonable use of vocabulary that is precise and purposeful   Use of grammar conveys meaning clearly with minor errors

Comprehensi­ bility (Pronunciation & tones)

Fluency  Fluency is affected by many long pauses. Student reads the dialogue for the entire presentation.  

   Fluency is affected by some long pauses. Students reads the dialogue most of the time 

   Fluency is generally consistent with some hesitation. Student hardly reads the dialogue 

   Fluency is consistent for the entire dialogue.  Student does not read the dialogue.
