Learning Strategy• I choose How Does Technology Help Non Verbal Students. The

Strategy I chose is using visual tools for organizing. Pg.. 334 Woolfolk A. (2016) Educational Psychology Third Education. I chose this strategy because using technology is all visual for non verbal students to learn. They see pictures, colors and also audio tools to help them learn. This topic pertains to psychology in that children that are not verbal need to learn in a different way and by using different tools they retain the information the best way they know how.

Creditable Source # 1 What Kids Gain From Technology.

Children communicate in many different ways such as facial expression, gestures and body language. When a child’s speech is delayed they need a way to communicate their wants and needs. An I pad is one of the most popular choices because it is more cost effective than other forms of technology. I pads have apps which can be used to program words, phrases sentences. All a child would need to do is press a button to create their own message. Children also need to understand the representation of a word or picture so they can communicate effectively.

Credible Source # 3• Non Verbal Kids- 3 Ways Technology Improves Communication

1, Receptive language skills improve- There are many apps and programs available for non verbal children to communicate that determine whether or not they are learning.

2, Expressive language improves- Children with autism have a hard time being able to express how they feel. Technology such as an I pad can allow them to express how they feel by pressing facial expression buttons with pictures and words.3, Social Interactions improve- Creating relationships with others is a challenge for non verbal children, so bringing in an I pad can allow a non verbal child or children to form relationships with others more comfortably.

Connections• The information that was gathered can relate to John Piaget’s stages

of learning. When using technology there is a process in learning how to retain the information which than allows the student to be able to retain the information they are learning. Piaget’s stages of learning are a perfect example of how children learn. One stage that pertains to this information is The Concrete Operational Stage this is when children begin to think more logically however tend to struggle with abstract concepts.
