Paradigm shift in a Teacher’s Role• The need is to educate the children holistically ;• This leads to make the curriculum inclusive i.e.; integration of
co-scholastic area in the curriculum;• To meet the above challenges schools started partnering with
service providers to tap their expertise in co-scholastic areas;• A teacher’s role is no longer restricted to
facilitate learning within classrooms;• In addition teacher has to ensure successful
implementation and mgmt of such programs;• In the emerged scenario, School Mgmt
expect a teacher to be decisive & Multi-tasking; which calls for teachers to be :-a team member ,a guide to stakeholders' ,- liaison with different service providers;- eventually to ensure that the objectives are achieved ;

challenges faced by 21st Century teachers• The changing role inside and outside of
classroom is resulting with the following newer challenges for the teachers ;
• Scholastic & Co-scholastic areas:– To effectively use contemporary aids &
tools to supplement the curriculum & assessment tools;
– Facilitating truly inclusive learning– i.e. Equitable attention to every child;
– Enable participative / interactive learning;
– Managing effective relationships with stakeholders (viz. Parents, teachers, colleagues, service providers);
