No longer is the emphasis on Readin’ Rightin’ And Rithmatic. A New “3 R’s” Relevance – I focus on integration of their technology as well as
showing students examples of real life usage. We regularly use wikispaces and video blogging.
Rigor – I give the students a high bar to shoot for and the tools to attain it rather than “dumbing” things down. Formative assessment training has changed my grading philosophy to be solely dependent on evidence of learning.
Relationship – For the postmodern student of today to have their learning needs met, their relational needs must be met as well. I have a heavy focus on promoting learning relationships among the class and a sense of unity among students. The “coaching” idea would best describe my relationship with the students.
