REAL ESTATE HOME LOAN SECTOR

The real estate boom has significantly contributed to the growth of the Indian home loan industry, with several na-

tionalized (government owned) and private banks capitalizing on the opportunity.

Till 30th September 2010, growth in home loan was 30 % as compared to 20 % for 2009-10 and 4 % during

2008-09.

The Home Loan sector in India has seen considerable transformation in last couple of years. As per the recent statis-

tics, the home insurance premium has crossed Rs 150 crore-mark marking a growth of 25% in the last financial year

and it seems to be continued. It has also estimated that 60% of the revenue in the loan premium is produced in the
