FEEL

Despite depending on farming for their livelihoods, we observed that vegetable gardening is not a prominent farming activity with the households of Rangtse community under Gakiling gewog in Ha.

FEEL

For three years now -- that is, ever since our school started its School Agriculture Programme -- we have been trying to promote vegetable gardening in the community by creating awareness and campaigning on organic vegetable cultivation and economic benefits of the same.

However we didn’t achieve much, as is evident from a marginal increase in production.

To change this situation, we decided to:

* Teach teachers, students & parents about DFC

* Identify areas for gardening

* Form Gardening Teams
