In my questionnaire there isn’t a wide range of ages, but the ages that are represented are what we want our target

audience to be so it will be relevant to our music video. This means that the questionnaire is be representative of our target

audience.

The people that took part in my questionnaire were all students, some with part time jobs, this fits in with

our target audience, as we want to appeal to a younger group of people. Again, it means that the

questionnaire will be representative.

Most people that answered this question use social media to find out about music, the main one being Youtube. Two thirds

of the people asked use this media platform. The people in the survey don’t use Facebook, so it won’t be a good platform to use to promote our music video. Other good platforms to use

would be Soundcloud, iTunes and Twitter.

The most popular genres are hip hop and R&B according to my questionnaire. Two thirds of people asked prefer R&B

and hip hop, which is a large amount compared to the minority that like other genres. The genre of the music video will be R&B, so we’ll be appealing to our target audience.

Why is this your favourite genre?

Many people in the questionnaire said that the genre(s) that they choose were their favourites because they could relate to the music in some way, and they felt the music was fun and enjoyable.

Another reason was because of the beats used. This shows that the song we use for the music video is important to make

our target audience relate to it and want to watch it. The song also needs to be something that can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, it doesn’t necessarily need to be upbeat, but it needs to be enjoyable to grab the audiences interests.

Who is your favourite artist?

The majority of people that participated in my questionnaire had a favourite artist in the hip hop & R&B genre. Considering my questionnaire showed that it was mostly taken by our target audience means that what we will be doing is accurate and will appeal to them. This fits in with the genre that our music video would be, which is R&B.

What is your favourite song at this moment?

Like the data that I found when people were asked their favourite artist, their favourite song was also in the hip hop/R&B genre. Again this will appeal to the people we’re aiming at as it’s in the same genre.

What do you like to see most in a music video?

What people wanted to see in a music video varied. A few people said they wanted a video that related to the song and for it to correlate.

Along with this, people wanted to see dancing in a video, whether it be a routine or just people dancing normally.

They also wanted to see the artist in the music video. Using this information, we will try to make sure our music video

incorporates as many of these things as possible.
