Questionnaire Relevance
Consulting with data users during the questionnaire design process allows for
clear understanding of how the data are to be used.
Construction:Wording Questions First, it is important to ask questions that are
clear and specific and that each respondent will be able to answer.
It is also important to ask only one question at a time.
It is especially important to consider the education level of the survey population when thinking about how easy it will be for respondents to interpret and answer a question.
it is important to consider whether certain words may be viewed as biased or potentially offensive to some respondents, as well as the emotional reaction that some words may provoke.
Open and Close responce-Closed Ended (Fixed Alternative) -These items allow the subject to select from one or more categories provided
by the questionnaire.-Open Ended - These items do not
specify response categories.
Response:Category FormatYes/No options.Multiple choice options.Likert scalesOpen-ended responses.Alternative responses

Contingency Questions-Questions that are limited to a subset
of respondents for whom they are relevant
Mailed QuestionnairesAdvantages:In this method personal questions can
also be asked as the privacy of the responder is maintained and hence they can properly answer those questions.
Money and manpower requirements are less.
There is no chance of interviewer's bias.It is not a very time consuming process.
Disadvantages:There is a chance of large amount of non-
response.Laymen can not be interrogated in this
method. Some individual may post some improper
or partially filled response.
