Skills I have improved since my preliminary task My preliminary task went quite well but I wanted to improve my use of both diegetic and non-diegetic sound in my film. I believe I have improved this skill as I have found music that really captures the suspense of the situation and how important the moment is for Aaron’s character because if the interview goes well then Aaron’s character can piece together his plan of revenge. Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Skills I have improved since my preliminary task

My preliminary task went quite well but I wanted to improve my use of both diegetic and non-diegetic sound in my film. I believe I have improved this skill as I have found music that really captures the suspense of the situation and how important the moment is for Aaron’s character because if the interview goes well then Aaron’s character can piece together his plan of revenge. Another skill I believe I have improved is my use of transitions effects, in my preliminary task I only used minimal effects with not much effectiveness but in my final production I have used a lot more effects in my editing which has helped me put more clips together effectively.

Improvements from preliminary to final film

I can see clear improvements with regards to my editing, in my preliminary task my editing was satisfactory due to my lack of experience with Adobe Premier Pro but now that I have some experience with that particular programme I believe my editing skills have grown as shown by the comparison between the editing in my preliminary task and my final product. As I mentioned before, my use of sound has improved, I have used sounds that are both more relevant to the situation that the characters are in as well as increase the suspense of the story.

Improvements for the future

My target audience response did point out some errors with the actors for my task, in order to avoid such issues in the future I will have to watch the shots I take carefully and leave enough time for me to amend any issues I have and re-film a shot in order to avoid actor error. Another improvement I would make next time would be my personal time management; there were times during my production where I was quite far behind schedule, in order to improve my time management I need to organise myself with my other commitments and leave enough time for me to achieve my filming goals.
