Comparing my front coversAlthough at the time I thought my college magazine was excellent its amazing how much improvement there has been. Such as that I have used my Canon 600D to take the image on my music magazine rather than my iPhone which means the lighting was perfect and allowed me to edit it to my highest ability. On the theme of editing my skills have improved vastly since the start of the year, lessons, research and photography lessons have helped with this as it meant I now know how to fully use the tools.

I used Dafont in both pieces and feel it worked great on both pieces but the text size and colours are better on the music magazine as I played around with the best colours and positioning for the best effect. Positioning of the puff is also better on my music piece making it overall look more professional.

Comparing my contents page!Straight away I feel you can see how more professional my music magazine front cover is. They both have a similar layout but the opacity of the list of contents and page numbers so it enables the image behind to be seen. Again with my music magazine I used my Canon 600D and it let me take high quality images in the studio that were easy to edit. When it comes to the heading it looks a lot more professional as the sizing and positioning is a lot better, I ran with the house style of having black text with a red shadow behind.

The website link at the bottom of the page enables the audience to interact with the magazine whereas the college magazine doesn’t have this. The college magazine also doesn’t show a page number which looks very unprofessional.

OverallOverall I can tell I have learnt a lot since producing the college magazine, with the layout, imagery, editing and composition. My music magazine looks a lot more professional and is something that I could imagine seeing on the shelf of a store or having its own website etc.
