WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS

PRODUCT?

Page 2: Question 6

During the construction of the product the technologies I have learnt are:• Camera • Photoshop• Serif Movie Plus • Lighting

I have learnt how to use many things throughout producing my product and one of the most important things I have learnt how to do is use a camera. I have learnt how to keep the camera steadier which is important because my product didn’t need to be purposely unsteady like if I did a POV shot on someone that was running. What I did to try get a steady shot was use a tripod for any parts I could but when I was walking with the camera I would make sure my path was clear of anything that could make me really shaky such as standing on a wobbly rock, I would also retake a shot a few times if I thought it was too shaky so I would get the best shot.

In my time of constructing my product I also learnt how to use Photoshop. I learnt how to this with creating my title ‘Returning’. I learnt how to use it by investigating and using trial and error until I found something I like and that worked. From this I learnt how to separate shapes and use a paint brush that looks like a splatter of blood.

Serif Movie Plus is another technology I learnt how to use as this is what I editing my product on. From this I learnt how to crop a shot so I can get rid of something at the edge of the screen I didn’t want there as well as this I learnt how to detach the audio from the video so I can alter the audio or move the sound around so it matches correctly. For example when there is a bang and my characters look around the room, they actually look around the room just before the bang therefore I need to move the audio without moving the video in order to do this. From Serif Movie Plus I also learnt how to use cross fade to make it look like time has passed in the video. For example the last shot in the forest crosses over with the first shot of the couple out of the forest this makes it look that time has passed. I also learnt how to trim clips. I learnt how to do this because I filmed way more than I needed so I would have to cut it down to make it engaging for the audience. My understanding of how lighting work improved while constructing my product as I had to make my whole outside seem in the same lighting even while they were filmed on two different days.

Weebly is a site where you can display all your work in a professional manner for people to see. I have used this for its purpose; I have created a Weebly account where I am showing all my work I have done throughout the year with my animatic and opening sequence that I can embed from websites such as YouTube. I worked out how to use this by investigation again.
