Format:

I will be designing a Magazine which will include front/back cover and a selective range of pages. I will design it in Photoshop which is digital designing software.

Colour schemes: My magazine needs to stand out from the rest. This means a diverse use of colours will be used

Working Title:

LOGO: My logo is bold and eye catching which has been designed to follow the modern design the magazine portrays.

My working title is ‘Reveal’ and is based around Electronic Dance Music. I am sticking with this name as it is catchy and easy to remember.

Genre:

My magazine is based around Electronic Dance Music.

EDM or Electronic Dance Music is a

range of modern music genres which are mostly produced using software and hardware like synths and keyboards.

Content:

Reveal will contain:

• Tutorials

• Tips and Tricks

• Software/sample reviews

• News

• Exclusive artist interviews

Adverts: Including Adverts sometimes is not the most glamorous; however it adds to the magazines profit and aged audience. Including adverts which have an audience aimed at teenagers would help us get more sales.

Popular/new tracks: Including new tracks which have or will be released soon is key. People are always looking for more music to listen to and providing possible tracks would help with the magazines popularity.

Style or Approach: My magazine is taking a modern approach for young people.

Teenagers are the biggest group which listens to modern music genres and it is still growing by a massive rate every day.

The magazine which I would like to contend in the publishing market is Music Radars range of music magazines. They are the biggest and most read sold in shops around the world. The most unique one which foreshadows my approach is Future Music.

Future music has a lot of imagery on each of its pages. Including this makes it more visual and appealing to the public.

Audience:

My magazines audience is mainly teenagers and producers of young ages. I have chosen this age ranged because the music industry’s biggest audience has been found to be ages 12-24.

To make the audience pick up the magazine I will be designing it in a bold and visual magazine which bright colours.

Page 8: Proposal - UNIT 21

Length: My magazine will be big because my audience would want to

have a lot including. When purchasing a magazine it may only last a week. To solve this, the magazine will have 6 sections. These sections will be designed for different genres and topics. This allows us to create more information for each section (there for making it more popular for a wide range of people)

My magazine will include 4 times the amount of an average magazine on shop shelves.

(For my project I will be designing: Front cover, Back cover, Contents, 3 Articles)

Legal & Ethical considerations:

Reveal will include multiple genres which could have different cultures which have been built around them. Therefor the magazine would respect the cultures and genres equally.

In addition software of hardware we review would respect the creators and not promote illegal use of the products.

The informant has consented to the information being used in specific ways, for agreed purposes, and by certain people. Any images of people have given the magazine permission to include them.
