This dynamic, highly experiential course combines discussion, group exercises and role-playing aimed to address ethics and principles of human conduct guided by positive intention for massage therapists and body workers. Following the NCBTMB Code of Ethics, this course will cover scope of practice and legal guidelines, cultural diversity, professional boundaries, client/therapist confidentiality, financial issues such as fair billing practices, professionalism and conflict resolution. Upon completion of our Professional Ethics for Body workers course, you will be able to (1) define the function and purpose of professional boundaries in order to create a safe and respectful environment for the practice of massage and bodywork therapy (2) identify the role and responsibilities of the therapist/client relationship (3) understand established standards of professional behavior and how to represent yourself and your profession accurately while using appropriate professional designations and descriptions. Payment is due in full to hold your space in any workshop. Class sizes are limited; all workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled within 14 days of workshop date. A $75 administrative fee applies to transfers, or cancellations made more than 14 days prior to the start of the scheduled workshop. Meals: There are many wonderful restaurants and café’s within walking distance of our campus. You are also welcome to bring your own meals. If you wish to bring anything that should remain cooled, please provide your own mini-cooler for storage during the workshop. Credit: To receive course credit, participants must attend the entire workshop, fully participate, and satisfactorily complete all course requirements. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the workshop or within two business days after the completion of the workshop.
