Subsidiarity: youth-relateddecisions must be made at alevel in which they are mosteffective
Interdepartmental co-ordination:when solving youth-related issues,state and municipal institutions andagencies communicate andco-operate with each other
Participation: youth-related issuesare solved with the participation ofyoung people and by co-ordinatingthem with youth or youthorganisations
Informing : state and municipalinstitutions and agencies, as well asyouth organisations inform youngpeople on the matters relevant to himin an acceptable and accessible form
Independence: youngpeople themselves choose afield of activities, set itspurposes, take an active partin it and are responsible forthe fulfilment of the saidpurposes
Voluntarily: youngpeople participate in achosen field of activitiesof their own will andwithout pressure
Self-governance: in theiractivity young people set downways, forms, responsibility andevaluation of the implementation ofthe purposes of this activity
Communication andco-operation: youth organisations ofLithuania communicate and co-operatewith youth organisations of Lithuaniaand other countries, state andmunicipal institutions and agencies,other natural and legal persons
