Next the fallopian tubes slowly transport the ovum to the uterus

Then the ovum is implanted into the wall of the uterus where it will grow into a fetus

If fertilization does not occur hormone levels will tell the inner uterus to break down & slough off to be expelled through the

vagina for 3-5 days (menstruation)
