HISTORY DE LA SALLE(1)

• On 14 October 1888, 5 Frères steamship arrived in Thessaloniki . Originated from Alexandria , Athens and Izmir. Their head was Frère Olympian . The next day began at the premises of the School Lazariston their first lessons . The massive turnout of students was for them a strong encouragement to continue their hard work .

• In 1895 the school moved to Sarnia house which the Order bought together with the surrounding land route Franks 10

• (current address Franks 2-4). There he built the new school in 1926 and the new building (the current " Demokritos " ) .

• In 1933 he transformed from francophone educational institution in Greek- College " DELASALLE" and operates since then under current legislation the Greek Ministry of Education.

• In 1968 he moved to modern facilities in Retziki( Pines ) , a suburb of Thessaloniki , within a pine environment area 60 acres. The plot was purchased by the Community of Frères in 1902 for 10,000 French Francs from Pascal Rountziero , who had acquired from Sarnia . The area originally belonged to well-known businessman of the city TZEKA Abbot .

• In 1980 gradually become mixed (boys and girls). In our days , the Greek- College " DELASALLE " has 650 students and continues with undiminished interest to offer his services to the student population of our city starting from the kindergarten, Kindergarten and Elementary as the school and Lyceum .
