Adjective Phrases • An adjective phrase is a prepositional phrase that

functions as an adjective, modifying a noun or a

pronoun.

– Typically, the adjective phrase will immediately follow

the noun or pronoun it modifies.

• Details about Ms. Schulz’s life are very sketchy and

usually involve cats.

tells where, when, how, why, or to what extent. Like

an adverb, it can modify a verb, and adjective, or

another adverb.

• Mr. Schram put on his cape early in the morning.

• Mr. Schram is pretty scary for a small guy when

dressed like Voldemort.
