2. A preliminary task allows you to practise on different variety of shots beforefilming your actual opening sequences. 3. Establishing Shot- It is generally a long- or extreme long shot at thebeginning of a scene indicating where, and sometimes when, theremainder of the scene takes place. This is successful as the start of character 1 is established in a location.Walking down the hallway. 4. Over the shoulder shot- Shooting a conversation over the shoulder allowsboth characters to remain in the scene throughout This was successful as this type of shot shows that the two characters are having a discussion and will usually follow an establishing shot which helps the audience. 5. Reaction Shot- It is a shot which cuts away from the main scene in orderto show the reaction of a character to it.This was successful as it encourages the audience to believe thecharacters are in the same geographic space. 6. 4. Long Shot Long shot- shows the entire object or human figure and is usually intended to place it in some relation to its surroundingsThis was successful as it informed the audience of the character situationsrelation both to one another and to their surrounding. 7. Match on action- is when you cut during an action to another cameraangle bur showing from the same point in time that you left in fromthe previous shot. This is successful as it shows the importance continuation of theflow of the scene. 8. 180 rule- is a basic guideline that states that two characters (or otherelements) in the same scene should always have the same left/rightrelationship to each other. This was successful as it helps to keep the actors facing the correctdirection. You dont want both coming across as if they are looking off tonowhere. 9. Reverse Shot -where one character is shown looking at another character(often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at thefirst character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are looking at each otherThis was successful as it have exploited to make improbable meaningsconvincing 10. This video was very successful and so I would give them a level 4 since it usedgood a variety of elements as it made me believe what situation they were in andwhat was about to occur. It was very believable. They had good use of shot such as:-Match on action-Establishing shots-Over the shoulders shot-Reverse Shot-180 degree rule 11. This is unsuccessful as the first image doesnt look believable that he was talking tosomeone. They should have improved this by making the second character be off-screen tomake it more convincing to the viewers that they were making contact. 12. This is unsuccessful as it doesnt give away any interest of whats about to happenwhen he opens the door. They should have focused more on the guy by seeing himopening the door and showing the other side of him entering to give it a much bettershot. 13. This unsuccessful as it doesnt establish the character where she is. We know that shecorridor because of the board on the side. But they should have used an establishing shlocation of where she is and where is going to go next. 14. This was unsuccessful as it doesnt properly state that they are making contactwith one another when discussing a situation. They should have used a over theshoulder shot to make there scene more effective by using this shot. 15. This video was unsuccessful and so I would give them a level 2 since they didnthave good variety of different shots. They should have included the following shot:-Establishing shot to show what location they are at-Over the shoulder shot-Match on action-Reverse Shot 16. How have this helped me? This has helped me by making sure I use different variety of shots in my preliminary task so people can understand the importance of the shot. Also when I do my preliminary draft I have an idea of what shots Im going to use and how to apply them usefully to my task. This helped me by making sure that my first draft would be a good one since I have research on what is good and bad preliminary task.
