MY GRANDPARENTS’ WEDDING

• They met in Paris, when he was visiting his family.

• She was there, she was on holidays and one day, she visited the Eiffel Tower, like him.

• She forgot her wallet in the lift and he found it.

• They were 20 years old when they met.

• The same day that he gave her the wallet, they went to the 58th floor of the Eiffel Tower.

• They went out for one year and a half before the wedding.

• After one year, they decided to get married.

• They got married on 24th October 1964.

• She wore a long and white dress.

• She also wore a long and beautiful veil.

THE HONEYMOON

• Their honeymoon was fantastic, they went to Galicia, they went there because she wanted to meet her family. On the other hand, they went to Santiago de Compostela and they saw the cathedral.

The bride’s parents gave them the

wedding cake. It was a big and white cake,

with five tiers.

MY PARENTS’ WEDDING

• They met in an island because a friend of my father introduced my mom to my father. They met 25 years ago.

FIRST DATE

• My father and his friend saw two girls who were sunbathing on the beach. They invited them to have a date and they accepted. They went to the cinema and they saw a terrifying film, they fell in love.

They went out for four years, and then they got married in Maldivas

Islands.

BEACH WEDDING

• My parents got married in the beach of Hoolith, a beautiful beach near the house where they stayed all the holidays. In the wedding, there were just their family and the most important friends. It was a fantastic wedding, at sunset there were dolphins jumping between the waves.

HONEYMOON• The honeymoon was in Cuba, because

they pointed at the world ball while it was spinning and their finger stopped in Cuba.

WEDDING CAKE

• My parents wanted a wedding cake with flowers, although they wanted a big cake, it was little but very wonderful.

PRESENTS

• Their friends gave them a lot of presents. Their favourite present was a dog they wanted. It was a little white dog.

COMPARING

The old weddings were classic but now they are more modern.

The wedding ceremonies have changed a lot. At that time the old weddings were in the church, and now a lot of brides want a natural wedding, at the beach, in the field...

Before, people got married younger than now.

All in all, in the old weddings there were a lot of people in the street after the ceremony. Some brides in this decade, got married

in a black dress. The wedding receptions were very simple and they only ate “ensaïmada” with

hot chocolate.

• On the other hand, the current weddings are modern, the bride dress is white and shorter than before.

• The wedding receptions are more extravagant than before. The guests eat a lot, and the weddings finish very late.
