The Plumbobs – an OWBCChapter 7

Page 2: Plumbobs chapter 7

Hi guys, I thought I’d better introduce myself; my name is Brody Plumbob and I am the heir to this Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge. I have to write a novel, max out the tinkering hobby and have some kids, and hopefully one of those kids will result from my alien abduction!

Page 3: Plumbobs chapter 7

When I arrived home from Uni nothing had really changed at the house, save for the number of flamingo’s. Captain Gnomington wasn’t there though, so one of the flamingo’s was down. I made sure to stand it up on the way inside.

Page 4: Plumbobs chapter 7

I headed in, out of the cold, and found my mums boogying on down in the living room. It was great to see them again, and they were eager for me to get the challenge moving.

Page 5: Plumbobs chapter 7

I started straight away by beginning my novel,

Page 6: Plumbobs chapter 7

And spent that first night at home fruitlessly stargazing.

Page 7: Plumbobs chapter 7

While my little bro, Oscar, amused himself by bouncing on the sofa. Well, he is a pleasure sim.

Page 8: Plumbobs chapter 7

The next day I called over my girlfriend Kana Phillips. She was a chef at one of the restaurants downtown and we had met on a matchmaker date I had at Uni. We hit it off straight away. I can honestly say I’ve never clicked with anyone the way I did with Kana, and I totally forgot all about the other girls I had met in dorms and around Uni.

She agreed to move with me and we immediately went to shops and bought ourselves some new clothes.

Page 9: Plumbobs chapter 7

And when we got home I proposed!

Page 10: Plumbobs chapter 7

Those few seconds were the most nerve racking of my life, but when she looked into my eyes and smiled that beautiful smile, I just new she was going to accept.

Page 11: Plumbobs chapter 7

Kana fit straight in with the family, Mum even helped her with her ballet.

I should probably point out that by Mum, I mean Mel, and when I say Mam, I’m talking about Teresa. Although whether I shout Mum or Mam they both answer.

Page 12: Plumbobs chapter 7

The next morning we all sat around the dining table, excitedly discussing the wedding which was taking place that afternoon.

Page 13: Plumbobs chapter 7

There was thick snow on the ground, and while that made it all the more romantic, it also meant it was bloody freezing!

Page 14: Plumbobs chapter 7

The ceremony was quick and simple, and all my family and some friends came and politely clapped in the snow. I could see the girls were all shivering though.

Page 15: Plumbobs chapter 7

And then I got to kiss my bride, and I must say, I do love kissing my bride.

Page 16: Plumbobs chapter 7

After that I thought I best start a smustle, before everyone froze to death!

Page 17: Plumbobs chapter 7

Almost everyone joined in, with the exception of Mum and Elliot.

Page 18: Plumbobs chapter 7

I made sure to chat to my guests too. My friend Amber was the only person who wasn’t family to show up. We’d kept in touch and met up a few times at Uni, after our one date as teens, but it never became anything more than friends.

Page 19: Plumbobs chapter 7

Kana and I spent the end of our party just slow dancing in the snow. It was mesmerizing.

Page 20: Plumbobs chapter 7

And after our guests left we went inside to warm up.

Page 21: Plumbobs chapter 7

Then it was back to stargazing for me.

Page 22: Plumbobs chapter 7

A few nights later Oscar invited his girlfriend Pamela over, buttered her up with some kisses …

Page 23: Plumbobs chapter 7

And then proposed!

I can’t believed he proposed in his dressing gown.

Or that he wears his hat with his dressing gown. He’s such a loser.

Page 24: Plumbobs chapter 7

Pamela mustn’t think so though, they ran out and got married almost immediately.

Page 25: Plumbobs chapter 7
Page 26: Plumbobs chapter 7

That tipped mum over the edge and made her permaplat!

I suppose you want to see what happened with my brothers and sisters don’t you? Alright then …

Page 27: Plumbobs chapter 7

Well, Oona had a matchmaker date while she was at Uni and met Jihoon. They hit it off, and although they didn’t see much of each other after that date Oona did call him everyday. They got married the night after I did, in a joint ceremony with Genesis. Oona Plumbob is now Oona Hsu.

Page 28: Plumbobs chapter 7

And Genesis married Sam Mazza, a guy she met a college.

Page 29: Plumbobs chapter 7

They all live together in a house not far from here. Oona got a job as a GP and Genesis is doing something in Science. Isaac and Elliot live together as well, next door to the girls …

Page 30: Plumbobs chapter 7

Isaac met a townie, Sandy Gray, through a matchmaker date. I know it took him a while to find the right person, the matchmaker kept dropping off old ladies!

Page 31: Plumbobs chapter 7

Elliot was rather more lucky. His first matchmaker date, which he had in Freshman year, gave him Marisa, his perfect 3 bolter woman.

Page 32: Plumbobs chapter 7

So, that’s what they’re upto. Nothing much else happened at Uni. It was just working, dancing, and finding partners really. Oh, and a gypsy dropped off a genie lamp, although no one has used it yet.

You’d think that after all these wedding ceremonies that my mums would be able to clap in the right direction. They must be going senile.

Page 33: Plumbobs chapter 7

For a while after that we had peace and quite. My mums had a few days off work, Kana, Oscar and I didn’t have jobs and Pamela slept all day. Mam advised Mum on her artwork, she was still trying to get the skill points she needed for a promotion.

Page 34: Plumbobs chapter 7

And Kana and I got to work on increasing our enthusiasm for Tinkering, as that’s the hobby we both enjoy the most.

Page 35: Plumbobs chapter 7

Mam also got started on a portrait of Pamela. Everyone who ever lives in this house must have their portrait painted in some shape or form. There’s already one of me with Oscar from when we were teenagers, but I’m thinking of getting one done of me and Kana together.

Page 36: Plumbobs chapter 7

Oscar’s a lot happier now that he’s married, although he still has to hunt bugs constantly. He doesn’t mind so much now though because Pamela sleeps all day, so he looks for bugs, and then he can spend the evening with Pamela. It’s a good job he’s quite energetic, he doesn’t really need a lot of sleep.

Page 37: Plumbobs chapter 7

I’ve always wanted to work in Entertainment, so I when I saw a job advert for a Headliner I snapped it up. I had most of the skills needed to reach the top and I hoped to get there before any kids were born. After that there can be no promotions until I get a grandchild! Mum had managed to top the Dance career the night before this. I am so proud of my mums, they’re both World Class Ballet Dancers, even if they’re in their sixties!

Page 38: Plumbobs chapter 7

It didn’t take long for Mam to finish the portrait of Pamela, and a good job she did of it too. It does make me laugh though. The portrait makes her look a bit creepy and scary, but she couldn’t be scary if she tried!

Page 39: Plumbobs chapter 7

While I was at work, on my first day, Mum passed away. She was only 68, she seemed far to young to go. At least she got to see all her kids married, that’s what she really wanted.

Page 40: Plumbobs chapter 7

Everyone was distraught, as you would expect. I’m just sorry I wasn’t there to comfort Mam and Oscar

Page 41: Plumbobs chapter 7

No one had much time to grieve before the next blow struck. Kana had gone to the train set, she says it helps her calm down and gives her a place to gather her thoughts, which is why she went then straight after Mum died ...

… This time though it wasn’t so much of a stress relief; it caught on fire! Oscar did his best to control the fire around Kana, but it was all to much for Mam, she had just seen her wife die after all.

Page 42: Plumbobs chapter 7

Fortunately Pamela was quick to call the fire brigade and they sent someone right over.

Page 43: Plumbobs chapter 7

So this is what I arrived home to; a gravestone right outside my carpool and my new wife engulfed in flames. I honestly thought Kana wouldn’t make it, I just crumpled up on the floor, a howling mess.

Miraculously though the fire was put out and Kana came out of it practically unscathed!

Page 44: Plumbobs chapter 7

All that trauma definitely brought the family closer together, especially the women.

Page 45: Plumbobs chapter 7

It even gave Oscar that kick he needed to find that last bug he needed to complete his bug collection. Mam and I were both at work, but I’m sure he celebrated with Pamela

Page 46: Plumbobs chapter 7

He said he saw Mum’s ghost while he was out there too, and apparently she didn’t look best pleased.

Page 47: Plumbobs chapter 7

That same night, just one night after Mum passed away, Mam died! She was a good few years old that Mum had been, but it doesn’t mean it came as any less of a shock. Of course I missed it because of work, I feel awful.

Page 48: Plumbobs chapter 7

At least I know she was happy, and now my mums are together again, as they should be.

Page 49: Plumbobs chapter 7

Although Mam’s ghost decided to stay around for a few day, even during daylight hours. It’s like she never went!

Page 50: Plumbobs chapter 7

Mum’s ghost is also very active, and she’s a lot meaner than when she was alive!

Page 51: Plumbobs chapter 7

These are the faces I walked in to see one evening … I don’t even want to know what they did on that sofa.

Page 52: Plumbobs chapter 7

There was a storm one afternoon and our gnome got struck by lighting! Of course, this gnome is not Captain Gnomington, just a gnome Oscar found while he was hiking. I fear Captain Gnomington may not be coming back.

Page 53: Plumbobs chapter 7

It soon became apparent that both Kana and Pamela were pregnant, although Kana’s pregnancy was a little more advanced.

Page 54: Plumbobs chapter 7

Once Mam’s ghost had returned to it’s grave we placed it in the corner of the lot with Mum’s. Hopefully they will be happy there.

Page 55: Plumbobs chapter 7

We decided to have a family get together, to remember our mums and celebrate the start of the next generation. There was food, games …

Page 56: Plumbobs chapter 7

… And lots of dancing.

Page 57: Plumbobs chapter 7

Pamela got a bit carried away at the party, though she blames it on the hormones, and she turned Oscar into a vampire! Later that evening the two of them moved out, although I’m a bit worried about how they’re going to bring up a kid when neither of them can venture out in the daytime.

Page 58: Plumbobs chapter 7

So it was just me and Kana for a little while, pure bliss.

Page 59: Plumbobs chapter 7

And Kana even surprised me by daring to use the train set again. I don’t think I would if I’d caught fire the last time I used it!

Page 60: Plumbobs chapter 7

Life wasn’t quite for long, as soon Kana gave birth, to triplets! They all have Kana’s black hair and my dark blue eyes. We named our little girl Lainey, and the boys Pip and Rhys.

Page 61: Plumbobs chapter 7

They were good kids, very peaceful, so I still had time to stargaze. I wanted a little brother or sister for them, and even though we had the triplets none of them could be a bad apple, so we would another kid at some point, alien or not.

Page 62: Plumbobs chapter 7

Our neighbours are a bunch of thieves, poor Gnomey never stays around for too long. Oscar always used to fetch him back though, and I don’t think Kana or me would dare!

Page 63: Plumbobs chapter 7

The afternoon of the triplets birthday Kana and I got in some quality time together, we knew the next few days were going to be incredibly hectic.

Page 64: Plumbobs chapter 7

That evening we didn’t throw a party, and instead just waited for the kids to grow up in their own time. Lainey was the first, and is absolutely the spitting image of her mother, except for the eye colour.

Page 65: Plumbobs chapter 7

Pip was next up and has an adorable head of curly hair, and he looks just like me! I’m not sure there’s any Kana in him at all.

Page 66: Plumbobs chapter 7

And Rhys, again looks a lot like me. We’re not quite sure if Pip and Rhys are identical though, afterall Isaac and Elliot looked pretty much the same as kids but now they look nothing alike.

Page 67: Plumbobs chapter 7

While we taught all the triplets to walk, talk, use the potty and sing a few nursery rhymes, we noticed some distinct differences in their personalities. For example Lainey is a far meaner and also a hell of a lot shyer than her brothers.

Page 68: Plumbobs chapter 7

Rhys is the nicest of the bunch, and also the very active and extremely serious.

Page 69: Plumbobs chapter 7

Whereas Pip is fairly middle of the road, except when it comes to being extremely outgoing. Seriously, he’s far more outgoing than anyone in the family, include my generation and my parents!

Page 70: Plumbobs chapter 7

Once we got them trained up they spent most of their time playing with the blocks at the activity table. The boys are best friends, but we’ve somehow managed to get Lainey on a totally different sleep pattern, so as soon as the boys get up Lainey’s ready for bed. Hopefully she can bond with them when she’s a bit older.

Page 71: Plumbobs chapter 7

They spent so much time with their blocks that they all managed to max out the mechanical skill!

Page 72: Plumbobs chapter 7

Once we taught the triplets everything we could we both had a bit more spare time on our hands. I used mine to do some research into alien abductions and found out what to look for which could indicate alien activity. In just a few hours I was abducted!

Page 73: Plumbobs chapter 7

It was ... freaky. Yes, I think freaky is the word. I’m not sure exactly what happened up there, but I know Mam would have loved it, being a knowledge sims and all.

Page 74: Plumbobs chapter 7

It didn’t take too much to get over the shock; Kana was a great help and just looking at the kids happy faces cheers me up no end.

Page 75: Plumbobs chapter 7
Page 76: Plumbobs chapter 7

They are hilarious, they talk total nonsense when they are playing, and they try to dance the stereo all the time, Mam and Mum would be so proud!

Page 77: Plumbobs chapter 7

I soon realised I wasn’t pregnant after my alien abduction, so it was back to the telescope for me! I was abducted almost immediately this time and it was just as terrifying as the last time. I knew straight away this time that I still wasn’t pregnant, more research was needed!

Page 78: Plumbobs chapter 7

The kids were totally oblivious to my travels, and were inside happily singing a song together, bless ‘em. And, it’s their birthday! You’ll have to come back next time to see them all grown up though. Thanks for reading ladies and gents.
